Famed Folklore Center founder Israel Goodman Young​ was in New York City last week for the FOLK CITY exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York. This video shows what we did.

Izzy Young was the first to hire musicians to play at Gerde's, my grandfather's restaurant on W4th Street. 'The Fifth Peg at Gerde's' became GERDE'S FOLK CITY and Mike Porco worked tirelessly to keep the doors open and support local musicians. Here's to IZZY who is NOT gone, and NOT forgotten for his selfless work in bridging the past with the future.
